Minister Plenipotentiary, Drs. Gracita R. Arrindell, recently welcomed her Aruban counterpart, Drs. Mildred Schwengle, for an introductory meeting at the Cabinet of the Minister Plenipotentiary in The Hague. The meeting took place on Monday March 23.
Schwengle was recently appointed as Minister Plenipotentiary of Aruba in the Netherlands and was sworn in on 4 March 2026. Over the course of her career, she has held various senior positions, including serving as a member of the Council of State of the Kingdom of the Netherlands from 2017 to 2023, where she advised on legislation and Kingdom affairs.
During the meeting, both Ministers exchanged views on their respective priorities and discussed areas of mutual interest within the Kingdom. Special attention was given to strengthening cooperation between the Cabinets in The Hague and maintaining close coordination on matters affecting the Caribbean parts of the Kingdom.
