The Hague – On Wednesday September 17th, the Minister Plenipotentiary of Sint Maarten, Drs. Gracita R. Arrindell, held an important meeting with the Governor of Sint Maarten, His Excellency Mr. Ajamu G. Baly, at the Cabinet of the Minister Plenipotentiary in The Hague.

As the King’s representative on Sint Maarten, the Governor plays a vital role in safeguarding good governance and representing the Kingdom on the island. The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange updates and strengthen the lines of communication between Sint Maarten and the wider Kingdom of the Netherlands.

During the meeting, attention was given to several developments. Minister Arrindell shared updates on the arrival of new students in the Netherlands this August, underlining the Cabinet’s ongoing role in supporting their integration and academic success.

Furthermore, the Minister elaborated on the progress of a diaspora database initiative. This initiative is designed to better connect talent with opportunities on Sint Maarten and to help facilitate career prospects in a tailor-made manner.

The meeting also addressed the facilitating role of the Cabinet of the Minister Plenipotentiary in liaising with ministries on Sint Maarten, and looked ahead to the upcoming Governor’s Symposium in October.

Minister Arrindell emphasized the importance of such exchanges: “Meeting with His Excellency Governor Baly forms a welcome and important part of the communication structure and open dialogue between the entities of the Kingdom of the Netherlands,” she stated.
